WATCH OUT FOR MEDICARE SCAMERS!

I have written several blogs about Medicare Scams and I wanted to add this important bit of information.

If you are contacted by someone who claims to be with Medicare, BEFORE you do business with this person, please ask them for a call back number to verify who they are AND WHAT COMPANY THEY ARE REPRESENTING. Most of the time, Medicare does not CALL YOU! It is hard to get in touch with Medicare since they are so busy.

NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR MEDICARE CLAIM NUMBER OR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER UNLESS YOU INTEND TO JOIN OR PURCHASE THE PLAN THAT IS BEING OFFERED TO YOU. NO ONE CAN SIGN YOU UP FOR A PLAN YOU DON’T WANT WITHOUT THIS INFORMATION.

Please refer to my other blogs about scams for more information.

REMEMBER THAT IF YOU ENROLL ON A MEDICARE ADVANTAGE PLAN AND WERE MISLEAD OR DON’T LIKE IT FOR ANY REASON, YOU HAVE 12 MONTHS TO GET BACK ON YOUR TRADIITONAL SUPPLEMENT WITH NO UNDERWRITING! IF YOU WAIT LONGER THAN 12 MONTHS YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO GET A SUPPLEMENT BECAUSE OF YOUR HEALTH CONDITIONS. You need to call us ASAP to get back on a Supplement!

Anyone who feels that they were fraudulently signed up for a Medicare plan they didn’t ask for should report it to the HHS Office of Inspector General.
