Important Dates for Drug Plans
By October 2nd, you should have recieved notice from your current drug plan if the plan was going to be discontinued for 2008. Your current drug plan should have sent a letter of termination, letting you know that you need to enroll in a new plan.
By October 31st, you should receive a notice from your current drug plan about any changes for 2008. The changes may be regarding the drugs listed on the new formulary or benefit design. They may also let you know of any premium changes. Please take note of this letter so that you can compare what you will have in 2008 with your current plan to other plans available to you.
If you do not get a comparison you will not know if there are other plans that could save you more on your co-pays and premium.
If you decide to continue using the drug plan you had in 2007 for 2008, you will be re-enrolled automatically. You do not have to re-enroll.
When you change plans for 2008 and send a new enrollment to Medicare, your previous plan for 2007 will be cancelled. You do not have to call your 2007 drug plan to cancel.
Begining November 15 thru December 31st 2007 you can compare drug plans and make your decision.
